  1. Ms. Maher,
I had a question about how to use the online databases. Where do I get the passwords so I can use Worldbook? Also, how many sources do I need? Can I do my project on ancient Egyptian food? I love to cook, but you didn't list food in the choices. Thanks

  2. Great question! I am glad you asked it. I am sure other students had the same question. You can get the passwords from the Teacher Librarian at school. She will give you a printout. You also need to use 5 sources (books, websites, or databases). Decide which type of source fits best. Your idea of doing food is fantastic! That's a hard topic to search, so try searching using keywords like cuisine, banquets, meals, and food preparation. You will also find good information if you search under farming as well. I am eager to read your report.

I see students have questions about using the passwords and how to search online databases. Students who would like a quick review of databases can stop by the library tomorrow at lunchtime, and I'll show you how to find information on Worldbook and SIRS. EBSCO POINTS OF VIEW has good information on Food and Medicine which are difficult topics to search. Stop by the library tomorrow and let's search.

I am trying to log onto Easybib to do my Bibliography. Do I need to create an account? My parents don't want me to create an account. How do I use this source?

I am glad you are working on your bibliography. You don't need an account on Easybib but it is easier if you have one. You can do your bibliography and then print it right away. Without an account, you won't be able to save it. If you have an account, you can save it.
